Zach, Ellen, and Miquela just returned from 2+ weeks of fieldwork in NV/OR/CA. We were sampling the carbonate sediments and rocks and waters (hah!) in modern and Pleistocene alkaline lakes. We're interested in how the geochemistry and carbonate mineralization processes impart unique dual clumped isotope and triple oxygen isotope signatures of minerals and waters.
